Farm Operations Manager – Fruit, Western Cape
Our client requires an Operations Manger to join their Fruit Production Farm, accountable for the following to ensure the production is streamlined, fruit quality is excellent by determining the best growth strategy.
Requirements:
- Relevant Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience as a production manager / Grower
- Excellent numerical aptitude
Responsibilities:
Field Establishment and Harvest Control
- Evaluate and compile Strategic production plan
- Determining best practises and programs from Propagation through to Harvesting
- Procurement of field and plant materials needs
- Develop budget and monitor projects accordingly
- Consultation with Growers and suppliers
- Plan, action and monitor labour requirements
Seasonal Profile Estimations
- Amend and communicate seasonal profile and estimates according to crop performance daily, weekly and fortnightly.
Husbandry
- Plan and compile annual Husbandry budget to meet strategic targets
- Determine and plan for infrastructure adjustments to meet expansion
- Establish training requirements and monitor performance
Logistics
- Manage Logistics Supervisor: Transport, Recycling, SHEQ, Sanitation and Stock Control
Health & Safety
- Monitor and ensure compliance to Health and Safety plan.
- Procurement of Safety equipment
